Ivory Music Studio provides piano lessons and music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Using a unique combination of virtual, computer-based theory instruction and hands-on training, Ivory Music Studio helps you to develop and sharpen the musical talent you already have.

Every 45-minute music lesson starts with 15 minutes of instruction using the Music Ace and Practica Musica computer software. Music Ace is made up of self-paced, highly interactive lessons that accelerate, develop, and reinforce usable fundamental music theory skills. A more advanced program, Practica Musica takes the already acquired fundamentals of music and teaches how to build melodies and harmonies in order to write music in four part harmonies, chord progressions, ear training, transposition, sight-reading, and more intrinsic theory skills a serious musician needs.

The next 30 minutes are spent at the piano with practical, traditional playing and utilizing skills learned during the theory lessons and from assigned piano books. To help inspire the students and build their confidence, there are piano recitals during the year to showcase their abilities and improvements. In addition, Master Classes bring all students together to teach, learn, play, and be supportive of each other. In these classes, the more advanced teach the younger and the younger become motivated to excel. We play piano technique round-robins and form "sides" to answer questions like a debate and then a game like password where the older kids try to test the younger ones knowledge of theory and technique. To foster even more musical interest, a portion of the monthly fee is held in an account for students so they can attend, as a group, competitions, concerts, and other community music-based outings.
